I took some friends out for my birthday.I always try to be "cool" with them, and I paid drinks in one caffe, but in another I gave money to friend because he ordered drinks. It was dark so I didn't see how much money did I gave him.It wasn't enough so he had to add his money, and I didn't know. This morning I saw that I have more money than there should be,and I called him,and he said that he told me,but that I didn't hear,or whatever, and that he gave his money. Now I don't know if I should give him money to make things better,or I'm going to look even more stupid if I do that.HELP!!!

Give him the money..... we all make mistakes..if he's a real friend it will be cool. If he won't take the money. When you go out again pay for his. It's not a big deal if you don't make it one. So Eat Drink be Merry. Enjoy life and especially your friends.

I actually think that giving him the money would be (while probably right and fitting for accountants) a little ummm trivial in the context of a friendship.

Take him out for coffee or a drink or dinner or something and pay for him. Do the FRIEND thing, not nit-pick about money.

:)

Yeah give him back the money,, and tell him that you didn't understand what he was asking for. Its a mistake,, and if he's a friend he will understand.. But not giving him the money, would be wrong as well, unless he is being dis-honest..which I don't know.

You can always ask your "friend" if he is in trouble now because he had to pay part of his drink. If he says yes give him the money he had to pay.
Besides, I don't understand how come you pay when it is your birthday? Usually it is the opposite.
Having to pay for your friends is not cool, especially when they should celebrate your anniversary.

Bt not making things worse, you make things better. Why not give him a small treat during the week end. It will help and to me it is a better idea.
