there is no objective means of measuring emotional pain, even physiological pain, for that matter. men and women handle pain differently--that's all. men will seek to replace a relationship while women tend to dwell more on it. of course, culturally, women have more social networks and therefore, more support during a loss. that could explain why men seek a mate so soon after losing one.

but I believe that some men take things just as hard, and others just try not to show it.
