Of 12 A's 2 had to be dropped right off the bat bec they made no effort to answer the Q and were unworthy of consideration. Of the remainung 10 A's 7 said the stmt was true and 3 said the stmt was false. The list of negative achievements indicating deterioration was evident were usually longer than the lists of positive achievements of preventing further attacks of the magnitude of 911 on US soil. I will mention that the listing of the positives were not offset or tempered by the losses of the soldiers killed or maimed in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Total KIA's in Iraq alone are approaching the total number of deaths on 911. Now then, weighing both sides based on the answers received, I think the consensus is in favor of accepting the stmt as true. So, the winner will come from that side.

The truth is self-evident. Things are getting worse.
Let em count the ways:
1.The deficit. At least Bill Clinton left him with a surplus.
2.American Deaths in Iraq.
3.Civilian Deaths in Iraq.
4.The response (or lack of) to Katrina.
5.Oil Prices.
6.The "Patriot" Act (Unpatriotic robbing of our rights).
7.Looking for info in all the wrong places (our phones, mail and who knows where else).
8.The English language (Bush should try speaking it).
9.Honesty.
10.Weapons of Mass Destruction (ours, we've got 'em).
11.Integrity.
12.That Chaney Sneer! (permanent).

This could go on, but my coffees cold.

I believe this statement to be very true.
Have the gas prices come down since they stole office?
Have the cost of living gone down since they stole office?
Stole being the key word here because they surely didn't get elected and if you think about it, Bush was not referred to as president elect was he? NOPE, never.
As for any major achievements go from those two idiot go, I'm still looking to see but to this date I haven't found any and as for things only getting worse, YES, and that goes for everything too. How many innocents have to be murdered before someone wises up and impeaches those two idiots anyway?
It must be costing the Bushs a small fortune to keep those two in office and not impeached and I hope they all can take it with them when they leave this world too cause they surely have earned the well paid trip to hell along with all the other terrorists.
I may get blasted for my comments and ask me if I care.

True, because they are currently fighting in the wrong wars (e.g, against Iraq, airline passengers, flag burners, internet users, and gay marriages), BUT...the left (or democratic party) has provided no viable alternative other than:

surrender in Iraq;

increased (an in some cases, total) government control of vital resources and industries, including metals, wood, power generation, education, child rearing, and medicine;

increased forcible redistribution of wealth;

no alternative to the failing Social Security system (Kerry's suggestion in the debates that there was "no problem" with Social Security's current state was embarrassing at best);

and interest group politics.

That is not a platform or an alternative; it's political pragmatism at its worst.

Yes, the current Bush/Cheney axis has gotten us into a heap of trouble. But no one has shown themselves to be better qualified to get us out of it. Therefore, let them continue down their chosen path, and let history and the voters be their judge.

True.
A few evidence:
* They seized power in order to advance a preconceived agenda whose outcome revolves around warfare.
* Therefore, they "had" to rig the first election.
* And they they coined the first of their daring buzzwords: "defensive shield" (and brought Canada to its knees; this was the first casualty).
* Obsviously all the funds had to be diverted to defense (the US was not under attack yet).
* And social services and public good handed over to private providers and investors.
* Which demanded a custom made taxation that would encourage hoarding capital and punish basic use of money.
* All the while they face a low approval rate because the US public opinion is not that stupid...
* Or wasn't stupid till 9/11.
* After that, the US population joined in GWB's efforts at worsening the world in two main fronts: home and abroad.
Net results:
1. Home in disarray (with new scapegoats to fool the locals: immigrants).
2. The world: an unsafe place (with countries crossing their fingers lest the US cast its eyes on them).

If Bush wouldn't have had the Testicular fortitude to go to war when we did.. We would be fighting the war HERE in our country, in our streets, towns, etc. Having our @sses blown up by terrorists every day, our familys kidnapped & beheaded for not conforming to Islam!
Also.. Afghanastan now votes for their officials & is pretty much a Democracy.
Iraq now holds their own elections & is well on the way to Democracy!
Hope that is enough for ya for now.

FALSE.

There have been no Islamofascist attacks on American soil since September 11, 2001.

The number of Islamofascist who are self identifying around the world is increasing. This allows our military and law enforcement agencies to track them so they may be neutralized.
