My 10 day-old newborn has developed some "loose skin" on his hands and feet - somewhat reminiscent of the kind of skin, you can peel off after a sunburn. The skin is not red in any way, and the baby does not seem to be at all bothered by it. Do you know what it is, and if it's anything to worry about?

Completely normal. Babies shed after birth. Pick up some baby lotion with Shea Butter in it. Not only good for baby, but good for you as well.

This is normal for a new born, nothing to worry about, use a little bit of baby oil when removing it if you want to. Or a warm water bath will help also. This is normal for all newborns with about 93% of them having this. Some more then others.

This is completely normal for a newborn to have. And you don't need to put ANYTHING on it - it will go away on its own. If you want more information about common skin conditions newborns have, go to www.babycenter.com. There's all kinds of weird things babies have with their skin - none of which you need to put anything on. In fact, it's better if you just leave it be.

Its from birth. My grand daughter had the same thing. Just keep putting lotion in the hands and feet. It takes a couple of weeks to finally come off though. They told my daughter it was because the baby was in the womb a long time. Were you overdo?

with my kids i used a small ammount of petroleum jelly on the areas that were peeling . it is normal for this to happen , when a baby is inside you they are in water , so once they are born they tend to dry out a bit .
if you decide to use baby oil in the bath be careful as they can get very slippery
