Is it the 'care' that affects, or is it the 'worry' ?
Care(involvement) is something that requires involvement, and it is good, and SHOULD NOT BE causing any mental problem !

Worrying is the 'expectation' part due to extra-apprehensions about any unforeseen thing happening to something that we cared for. This has to be resolved by gently but thoroughly looking at the situation. Suppose, we are living next to a live volcano, then the house that we 'care' for is prone to be destroyed every now and then. And yet, we have to rebuild. Just that we have to see that we strike a balance between the convenience of the house and the cost , efforts we invest in it. This planning removes the worry part. Also, even something that we love too much, we can actually finish the worry in a staggered way beforehand by visualising all that can happen (nothing is permanent in this world), and live through the experience of even losing it beforehand, so that when it happens, the impact is far less, and more than that , this very process affords us a better planning capability to actually preserve it !

Your problem is not that you care, it's apparently that you care TOO much! I have been told the same thing. It is my nature to feel overly-compassionate about things. I would not change places with someone who did not care, who was a robot emotionally. It's not always good for me to care so much, but consider the alternative...aren't you tired of everyone just thinking of themselves?? Are you in the type of profession that requires you to be overly involved? This may not be the best thing for your nature. It's good to care, but sometimes, I'm still learning, we have to "Let go and let God", and try not to control things. Some people's seeming indifference could just mean that they feel a loss of control , or even that they have developed a sense of a more Powerful Presence that guides them... (just my thoughts).

Here is something to care about that will not affect you adversely my friend. "Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and body and love your neighbors as you love yourself." And here is something you can hate with all your heart. Sin. God loves us and He hates sin. That is the right use of your emotions.
Lots of love,
Cathy
