Yes, it is possible to be invisible. There are two ways of doing this. First, there is the chameleon. It changes its color to match the color it is next to. This is called camouflage. An interesting use of camouflage discovered in WWII was to turn on lights in vehicles. The bright lights matched the daytime sky behind the vehicle and gave camouflage.

The second way to be invisible is to literally bend the light around you. Theoretically, this could be done with strong gravitational fields. However, no practical application has been done yet. Another way to do this is with light pipes (fiber optic strands), mirrors, or other materials that can bend or bounce light. Magicians frequenty use mirrors to render objects onstage invisible. The mirrors bounce the light around the object so the audience sees what's in back of the object. Of course, this only works in one direction. Anybody viewing it from the side would see the mirrors. Scientists are also working on other materials that can be used to bend light around an object.

have you seen the movie predetor with arnold schwartznegger? the alien who uses the trees to attack his victims? i believe that the c.i.a. has suits that bend light (using physics) as was done in the movie. this stuff is top secret and very few people know of this. i have seen these suits in use and its strange how light is bent so user seems almost invisable. if this subject was wearing one and up in a tree-- it looks like a faint white glow in the dark. i call these shadow people

It's not possible as far as science has proven it to be, but it would be fun if it is possible :)
