In Canada, they tell women to wait until 6 weeks after the baby is born. I don't know what that other person was saying about driving---you can drive the next day after the baby is born if you feel good.

You should ask your doctor about this. I just had a baby and my doctor made me wait 6 weeks . Child birth is hard on a womens body, it needs to heal properly. It will go by quick any way, when you are busy with a baby.

These are great answers but there is even more to it. What was the delivery like? Did you tear? Or have an episiotome? If yes to either its gonna be 3-4 weeks minimum before you even will think about it.

For a vaginal birth the doctor usually says 6 weeks. I'm not sure how long for a c-section.

every woman is different but after i had my 3rd child i was so damn horny!!! i think i waited about 3 weeks, whereas with my 2ND child i was still bleeding at that point so waited a bit longer. i think 4-6 weeks is safest. most women like to wait until they have had their 6 week check-up just to be safe.
