I was just wondering what happened to DR Sam Beckett Because i am starting to enjoy this series even though i have no idea what seaon is on ITV 3 at the moment

Firstly it's not an 80's show, yes it started in 1989 but it is considered early 90's. The first episode is feature length or a two parter if you are watching repeats. Sam Beckett is a quantum physicists with his own 'string' theory of time travel. To prove his theory he steps into the quantum leap accelorator and vanishes. He awakes in the 1950's with a memory shot full of hole ('swiss cheesed'). He can't remeber who he is or where he is or why he is there. He soon discovers that he is in a body that is not his own. He discovers he is a test piloet for the U.S Air Force attempting to break Mach 2. Finally his best friend Al arrives from the future in the shape of a hologram. Through some extrapolation from the Quantum Leap computer (Ziggy) Sam learns that in order to 'leap' back home he must put right an event that goes wrong in this time. The person he has leapt into will die trying to make Mach 2. Sam puts it right only to find that the pregnant wife of his leapee has gone into early labour. Using some of his doctor training (or the little he can remember) He manages to prevent her losing the baby.
So ends 'Genesis' the first episode of Quantum Leap. The series goes from strength to strength and often looks at dark periods of human history while carefully interspersing it with lighter episodes. It's a good series and one that brings me back to my childhood

I use to watch it all the time. I loved it. :)
I can't tell you much though, I can't remember. But keep watching...I don't think I watched it in order and it was pretty explanatory. At the end of every episode when he leaps...he gets to the next time and opens his eyes and says "oh boy" :) That's simple...and funny. Good show. Enjoy.
