NTL claims that the line is clear from their marks, they keep redirecting me from one phone advisor to another. What can I do?

I tried to get NTL broadband but they couldnt install it (but left the line MARKED!!!), that's why I am trying TALK TALK now. NTL claim that the mark is removed now and they have nothing to do with it, while Talk Talk claim that the line is still marked.
The problem is, with line makred I won't be able to get ANY broadband. I am going in cirles here!

i was with talk talk. had same sort of problem. they said i couldn't have the Internet until i had phoned B.T and asked them to remove something from my line. (cant remember the name of it sorry) anyway i tried and B.T said it wasn't up to me to sort it , it was up to talk talk. to cut a long story short i tried at least 10 times to phone talk talk and i either got a message to say all operators were busy and to try again later or i was put in a Que and kept waiting for 25 minutes only for the line to go dead. sent 2 emails and both were ignored, so 3 days ago when the sales team from B.T rang out of the blue, i said i was looking at going back to them. he signed me up there and then, i told him of all the problems i had with talk talk and he said they had had literally thousands of people say the same thing. All of which have gone back to B.T. so if i was you i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. or if you are with them , as soon as your contract ends tell them where to go! good luck

Having recently seen a documentary on Talk Talk - and having had to sort out the computer and line for my sister because of their incompetance - I'd say walk away.
Basically, they projected for 270,000 broadband users - and got swamped with over 500,000 orders. Naturally, instead of saying, OK, we'll limit it to the first quarter million to subscribe, they decided, take them all, the more the merrier...
They may catch up in time, but in their greed to get bums on seats they have overstretched themselves to breaking point.
The problem with freefall prices is not everyone gets a parachute... *SPLAT*

What date did you ask em to lift theyre mark? as it takes 14days for them to remove it so they may have it recorded as lifted but it hasnt yet happened.
find out what date they "lifted" theyre mark if they can't give u a specific date then they're lying!! lol
or ring bt and ask if your lines compatable with their broadband they will run a test there and then and tell you if your line is free or marked
