YES, YES, YES! I F****** despise bullies. Her boss can be taken to court for bullying and discrimination. Tell her this must done. I'm severely sick because of bullying, no-one should be treated like ****. I'll see what I can dig up for you and ur friend. Hope that's cool.

Yes it is possible - however the first step your friend must take is to actually resign from her job (in WRITING and KEEP A COPY!!! - explaining FULLY her reasons for doing so) There is a risk to this strategy however. Such letter will at some point reach the Human Resources Dept and the Manager may well ask questions of the bully about it. In the meantime your frind visits an office of Jobcentreplus and asks for form E.T.1 (no this is NOT extra Terrestrial) but is an originating application to an Employment Tribunal. Under s.95(c) Employment Rights Act 1996 your friend claims that notwithstanding she has resigned, she has in fact, been unfairly (Constructively Dismissed). See also Western Excavation Ltd -v- Sharp [1978] Court of Appeal. [1978] Industrial Court Reports p. 221. The risk (see above) is that having resigned, if the Tribunal hearing your friend's case do not agree that she has been unfairly constructively dismissed, she will have (a) lost her job, (b) have failed to win any compensation for that loss.

Your friend will need to visit her nearest Law Centre if there is one in the vicinity or a Citizens Advice Bureau (one that does provide representation). Your friend needs to be strongly advised NOT to try and do this alone (particularly if she has little or no experience of doing so).

Get hidden camers from a spy shop or internet site and collect date both of you. That way you can prove it so its not ones word against the other.

Or maybe have someone pull the boss off the street, bag over head, metal tube to head (and rough up somewhat and have a word that if it does not stop, accidents happen and heads get air holes. And that the boss is being watched and phones may be tapped. Then chuck out in the middle of nowhere

If your friends doctor has confirmed that her fits have been brought on by stress then I would say she has a case for getting her boss sorted out big time, tell her to book one of those free half hour consultations with a solicitor, there advertised in your local phone book and yellow pages, he will tell her if she has a case to continue with, bullying in any form is disgusting and it getting as bad as it has for your friend is beyond words, how awful for her that this boss of hers thinks it is nice to bully her, she needs to see a solicitor asp and put her case across with evidence from her doctor, very good luck hope she gets something sorted out soon and the bully gets his comeuppance.

most firms have to have a policy these days, it is the managing directors responsibility to ensure these policies are acted upon.
You friend must tackle this problem, it is hard...but not as hard as living with the low self esteem, that this can cause.....time for your friend to turn the negatives to positives, first step is to devise a strategy....ask the person to stop...a good lead in is to say to the bully..l need help..l have a problem...hopefully they say oh yes what's that...your friend says....and get eye contact ''you and your attitude''....and if you don't stop l am reporting you as a bully...it best to have the words ready to say just take a deep breath and let it go...have an audience if possible so say it loud...be as gobby as possible.........if there is any unlplesantries..have the letter of complaint written out ready as stage two.. with a few examples with dates and times...keep to facts and forget emotion......use positive words like...l expect you to get this stopped....it is unacceptable.....you have policies l expect you to act on them.....in other words bollock the top boss for not maintainig the company policy and just drop the bully in the s--- too...ask yourself who is in control at this satge? do not hesitate Most bullies are inadequate...make that all bullies...and they only feel good by putting other people down.....it is very hard for them to cope once challenged..and usually they will back down or not realise they were such a pudding......is you friend the only one...if this idiot is picking on others there is strength in numbers......it is hard to do...but ask your self who is causing the need for action.
a good manager is an enabler, and offers encouragement and support, management like this its so last century

She needs to keep a diary of all ocurrences of bullying, so she can contact a solicitor and make a case. She should also go to her GP and explain the situation - he/she may recommend counselling, which will 'look' good in any tribunal. Don't let the bullies get away with it - best of luck to your friend.

I think you'd need a doctor to diagnose the cause of the fitting first, then if that can be related to being induced by stress then she might have a case
