I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Eating is usually related to fear.
We are all born with 50% fear. It is up too you how you deal with this in your lifetime :-)
However, to get more resourcefull and loose weight, you can use one of the the following options, which help with the mental and food and body patterns.

FOOD
Check out the Anti-Aging plan for a radical diet by Dr. Walford
Go Macro Biotics by Michio Kushi which is kinda radical too
Check out Ayurveda diet by Amadea Morningstar. This is a modest diet, centuries old and proven to be healthy for you.

MENTAL
As for the mental perpective you can do the the emotional freedom technique which is a free self-helptechnique.
It's also called EFT and you find a free manual on the EFT website at www.emofree.com
The second help is rather comprehensive as it will change manythings you want to get rid of. It is called alfons Ven cure
contact myriam@alfonsven.com or visit www.alfonsven.com

BODY
Do the five tibetans daily they are a source of rejuvenation. They are so smart.

Please don't forget that all of the options I gave are just options try whatever resonates with you the most. It's all about giving options. :-)

don't advise it but I have heard that crack would do it. save the money from the gym membership for rehab, no I am NOT serious. Increased general activity level (2 hours a day in the gym might be good but high activity as much is possible will change the way your body is tuned) Also how much you eat is not really important, how much stays in your body is, that is determinded by metabolism which is determined by activity level. When I get sick I drop 15 lbs in a day, when I get better I get it back eating habits don't really change during that time just what my body is do with it. You prolly have an office type job, park further away and walk into work, Walk as much as possible just to get overall energy level up.

You can loose weight. But don't set an amount. Try to have a lifestyle of healthy food and exercise. There is a danger in too much strenuous activity. And there is also a danger in not eating enough. More important than loosing weight is your safety. So be careful.

I read an article from this guy who lost a heap of weight and he said not to weigh yourself in the 1st month so you don't get discouraged.

Good luck and look after yourself.

Get a physical and discuss weight loss with your Doctor. Was it your diet that caused your weight gain? Or could there be another underlying factor?
Try the South Beach Diet or another sensible eating plan. Whatever you do, cut out white flour and sugar from your diet.
Continue your exercise plan
Continue to drink LOTS of water
Good Luck!

you are doing already your best by eating 5 small portions a day, drinking lots of water and working out. Bodies differs... don't despair if you don't lose weight immediately, in the end you will see the results. Keep up the good work.

Damn If your doing all of that(except for eating so much food, hopefully not a lot of fast food and fattening things) you should be able to lose weight quick. Because if that doesn't work then I wouldn't know what to give to you for advise.

You can lose wieght, but the goal should be to lose it safely, and not gain it back in the long run.
Seriously, the best weight lose program you can join is Weight Watchers, and join a gym.
