Most home wireless networks should be fine. In terms of public access points, they need to be registered with Nintendo. You can find a list of those which are at nintendo.co.uk

no not all some work check nintendowifi.com for the kind of routers that work or you can buy the wifi USB connector. it's about $28 i think.

ya pretty much exept a few exeptions are some that are too secure to work on a handheld device
