A three-part question :
(1) Why does the US government always and always has armed Isreal and not any other country in the region ? -- (2) Why this blatant and constant bias in favor of Israel ?
(3) Do US and England really want peace in the region or peace at any cost to other countried surrounding Israel.
My question is NOT sarcasm. It is out of a genuine wish to know. Thank you.

I can't speak for the governments of the US or the Brits, but I can say that you have your facts wrong. I know we supported the Shah of Iran until he was booted out in 79 (?) Then we armed Iraq :-). Then after 91 (Desert Storm) the Iranians were our 'friends' again, against Iraq, and I think we armed the Iraqi's too. It's all very strange.
I can't speak for every American, but the impression I get from those I work with and those I talk to, etc most American's don't have any sort of "bias in favor of Israel". I can see how you get this impression though. It seems this way to a few of us too.
Actually, many believe our government's involvement in the mid-east is over oil. To be fair, that explains why the Soviets/now Russians also get involved in the mid-east (no, the US isn't the only one interested in their oil, sorry)
There is no such thing as "peace at any cost". "Oil at any cost" is another matter...

The israeli/ US bond goes back a long way, but took a strong hold in WW2 when a tremendous number of jewish people ended up here. From flee the nazis, over time the jewish people have brought bonds from their religious homeland. Remeber Israel was formed in 1947 when britain left the area because it no longer wanted to deal with the fighting between zionist and muslims in the area no known as israel/palestine. The UN created the split country of israel/palestine that we know today. The high number of jewish people here from before and after WW2 that climbed into business and politics pulled the US close to ISrael. This is bolstered by the fact they Israel is the only nation in the area that acts in a way that the US understands and agrees with. The US as a whole can't understand the way the rest of the governments/warlord systems work. We are them because of the amount of money that is shared and paid to the US for them and we don't think that they would turn against us. All of the other countries are to unpredictable and chaotic to trust that the weapons sold would be turn back on the US or given to some warlord to misuse, or get "lost" and wind up in NEW York. I belief that US/Brits hope to get israel out of the wars without someone going nuclear, want peace yes because if it goes too far we will have to get involved and if we do the other arab countries will then get involved and boom WW3 and I am serious even if its not nuclear at first, Iran is using hezbolah to distract from it nuke program until they have the tech to fulfil their plans.
Now a question in return why does ALL of the arab nations concede and or assist religious militia who aren't held accountable for their actions like a nation can be? Why is Iran pulling hezbolahs strings and suppling arms to them through syria. And why do these nations play stupid when they are caught doing this and deny any involvement when it is clear what they are doing.(hezbolah doesn't has missle manufacturing facilities and Iran gives them 100mil a year)

The US, {and most other countries}, have sold or traded arms to MANY countries... the US backs Israel because they are trying to disarm Hezbollah. Hezbollah is a terrorist group, plain and simple. Yes. The US and England really do want peace {of course!}. What some people don't seem to understand is the TRUE threat of terrorism. These fanatics want to take over the world....and the world needs to unite against them. All the bleeding hearts who can't see past the innocents being killed, { terrorists are known for hiding themselves and weapons among the innocent}, aren't seeing the big picture. It's us or them...hopefully, they will WAKE UP!!!!!!

Israel was a country formed as a military outpost to protect our interests in the oil rich middle east at the beginning of the cold war.we have bankrolled Israel's existence with money as well as arms to insure we will always have a military presence in the middle east.Peace has not worked to our interests in the middle east, during times of peace Arab countries have worked closely together to control the price of oil on the world market. With a few little skirmishes, perhaps the destruction of a city or two we can successfully come to the assistance of the nations affected with food, money and expand our influence in the region.

All your THREE questions can be answered in ONE ANSWER.
And that is...
Israel and the U.S has more similarity in when it comes to their political system. Israel for the U.S is the ONLY country in the Middle East that held elections, and the Israeli people elect their leaders. Israelis happened to be IMMIGRANTS like the Americans once were and found this new land to have a freedom of religion, and justice in general. Israel is the ONLY country in the middle of more than 10 countries that condemns their existence. Everything Israel is shares with what America once was historically.

1) Because Israel is part of the United Nations. They are the only sane country in that region and I use 'sane' very loosely. 2) Well, UN countries are usually favored as opposed to favoring terrorist harboring countries. 3) Yes, we want peace. Terrorist do not. This is obvious, what is the problem? Rid the world of terrorist, not the US or UK.

1- i call this the christian factor...like it or not, our government officials are predominatly christians and are on the side of christian nations...
2- it is more or less blatant and bias, but the U.S and Israel are allies so they kind of have to be...
3- wanting peace for the non-christian middle eastern countries is probably a more economic and "security" intrest rather than an actual desire for peace...however, the UN plays a big roll in deciding how things are handled...
