Garnet is for all of January. Amethyst is for all of February. I don't think they do. I have been pondering this myself for years.

We the surfers of cyber world meet with so many people every day. Surfing the net is the best pastime one can ever develop, as internet has the most knowledge, a surfer will never have to wait for a answer. The cyber culture is growing, and it is about time that we find our club and that to a very different club, which is not a part of any big website house like the yahoo and google. The birthstones often overlap. Mine is peridot which i really do not like, what remains is Sapphire....but you know, the thing is that yu might feel comfortable with one or the other. I actually prefer garnet myself, they are strong and lustful and striking. I do not care for topaz....but love auquamarine. My sister was born on the 20th of January and is an Aquarian by 20 minutes! She prefers garnet, wherrein the stone for Aquarius is Amethyst. Be happy with your choice and cheers!
