Head to a sewing/fabric store and check out the patterns. Many are very easy to follow and you can choose your own colors and fabrics. Best way to stand out and you can be proud of it. I'm sure if you ask around someone you know knows how to sew and can help out. Store bought costumes always look store bought and generic.
