Silica Gel comes in large packages. It is a dessicant that dries things out. If you can, open the wardrobes for a bit to let fresh air in.

Also, I'd hang sachets like lavendar in the closet to help thing smell a bit fresher.

If you put a saucer of salt in the wardrobe it will absorb any dampness. Regarding the smell I would put in one of those car freshner things or similar.

The salt was a good idea. To get rid of the odor, spray the clothes with Wizard Odor Neutralizer. It comes in a spray can in the air freshener part of the store.

Get rid of the wardrobes and get new ones to put clothes in. Problem solved.

Try washing them with a nice smelling washer detergent, and then when you dry them put in a dryer sheet thats scented and check your closet for damp areas because that can cause mildew

you should get rid of the wardrobes because they will start to root and moths also like it being misty and damp so they can drink the water and then they will eat your stuff

Try putting some mothballs and also some scented wood balls as well.
