Talk to your doctor. There are safe medications to take, but you need to ask him first. You did not say how far long you are, and you need to be very careful your first trimester as most drugs cross the placenta. It's hard to have a cold when you are pregnant. It's very hard to get rid of one. Make sure you are getting plenty of rest, eating good foods, drink lots of water and take some vitamin C to help your immune system to fight off this cold. You can try visiting your local herbal shops and buy a product that's toxic-free so you won't harm your baby.Never indulge into self medication unless it's prescribed by your doctor.Try to consult your doctor while in the meantime try drinking lots of fluids so you won't dehydrate & your baby.Lemon juice,citrus drinks are I think calming for the throat and harmless.Rub some balsam in your chest too having aromatic smells so you relax your muscles.

Ask your local pharmacist as a lot of cough mixtures aren't suitable whilst preganant.

i would call your dr i took NOTHING when i was pregnant well except for rolaids for gas lol i suffered if i was sick
