At this late stage in the championship, I would say it is more likely that Alonso will win, he doesn't need to win every race, the Renault has been very reliable (Hungary not withstanding) Renault have some major modifications for Turkey onwards. If the Michelins stay competitive, Alonso has the better chance. Mr Schumacher cannot be written off just yet though. but I would say at this stage I am 65% certain of an Alonso victory to 35% for Michael Schumacher.

"...and here we are, we're back, we never give up...."
I would love to hear Schumi say that again (like in 2003). Unfortunately, I'm prepared to face the cold reality....unless Schumi finishes ahead of Alonso in every race and count on Alonso to have a bad race or two, I can't see how Schumi can win the championship. I'm hopeful, but Alonso and Renault crew are annoyingly damn good! Chances are, Ferrari will win a couple of races, and Renault also...that's game over for the Scuderia.

well it certainly wont be jenson button he must be the most over rated driver of all time. all this hype because he won a race. it took him 7 years and a good few hundred races to do it. and he only won it due to circumstances of the other decent drivers not being able to finish. lets see him actually beat the decent drivers and win . BET HE CANT. i think schumacher will claw back the defecit in points and win although im not a schumacher fan

Michael's position has been improving recently ( although how much of this is due to the car and tyres we don't know) but Renault has modifications coming soon so Alonso and Michelin could increase their lead. Schumacher seems to be on a roll although thinking about it, I would like to see Michael get his eighth title and then retire as champion. Grand Prix .com seems to think that he might retire but who knows?
