Just think, life could ALWAYS be worse. Try to get your mind off the things that are making you depressed or sad. What do you enjoy doing? Go out and do something fun. Friends are a GREAT outlet for the stresses of everyday life. It is no fun being alone so surround yourself with friends or family as much as possible. Watch some movies. Movies usually get unwanted thoughts out of your mind for at least a little bit. Comedy's are always good. Try to smile and laugh. Go for a walk or a hike in a wilderness area and appreciate the environment around you. There is a lot more to life than just the everyday activities you encounter.

Depending upon the length of time and why you might be depressed depends on what you should do.

If its temporary due to a job loss, loss of a friendship, or someone dying? I strongly encourage you to do mild exercise, and long walks- the mild workout won't hurt you and the long walks (both together) will increase the serontoin in your brain that will make you feel better ok?

However, if this depression- and I do mean a serious depression that lasts longer than 2 weeks or so? Go see a Doctor and see what s/he says- theres some marvelous drugs out there like Paxel, Wellbutrin SR, Zoloft and all of them can help you get your head screwed on straight.

Gotcha Ya. You are not alone. Depression sucks. Today in NJ we had a beautiful day. I spent the day under the covers in my bed until the last minute I have to go to work at 3pm. The problem is I have a job that I'm very good at and work with great people. I am a manager of a 4 star fine dining restaurant. At 5:30pm I am "ON". I have tried "Paxil", but felt "drugged". I will try my doctor for another solution. At least I and you know what it is. It is a reality that we can identify. The sun is shining but it is tough to enjoy.

The best way to deal with depression is face the problem head on. otherwise get out take a run, go to beach visit friends, have a relaxing day. Then you will fel stronger and be calmer youi can then start todeal with the issues that are depressing you.

ask your doctor. if you don't want to do that try and do some of these, they will help.

get a least 8 hrs of sleep.
drink plenty of water.
try and take your stress level down a notch. (like go do something you enjoy. like read a book for 20 minutes a day. or meditate, paint.)
exercise regularly.
don't drink alcohol.

all of these things will help you body function better including your brain. chemicals in your brain are what trigger depression. when you are tired and your brain is not to full function, you brain does not balance these chemicals well. this can lead to many things, one of them being depression. good luck.
blessed be.

find someone to talk to. Or go shopping, it makes me more relax. And don't worry to much about it, everyone have their own problem too and they get depressed like you too. But we can go through it, you just got to believe that somehow everything will be okay. ^.^ just give it more time

Why are you depressed, sweetie? God loves you. There's a song that goes "count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done" Ask Him to carry your burden for you because it's too heavy for you to bear. He will.
