It's so unfair. Curvy is Salma Hayek, Beyonce Knowles, Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe. But nowadays when people hear words like "curvy" they think Queen Latifah, Star Jones and Kathy Bates.

I don't intend to be mean to fat people I just wish they would stop ruining those words, because it ruins the credibility for people like me who actually ARE tall and curvy.

I love the way you think! I hate it too. If I want to tell someone how I look, they would think I was fat and putting a good face on it.

There are many way to describe being overwieght without being rude. How about "pleasently plump", "stocky", "heavyset", "husky"?

The media has changed the wording a little to make those "fat " women feel better about themselves. Women who were curvy, or voluptuous are now sexy or diva. If the media refused to support the obesity of the nation then all advertising would cease and there wouldn't be any multi-million dollar companies paying our celebrities to entertain us.

Yeah totally! At theme parks they have signs that say... "Due to the limited space and safety on this ride, people with particularly large proportions may not ride." They should just start saying things straight out, instead of butchering and hiding the truth... no fat people can ride!

I used to say I was 5'3" and curvy... but now that makes people think I'm fat and that's not the case, it drives me nuts... you're right, curvy is Salma Hayek, Beyonce, etc...

People are creating their own definitions for many other words as well. "Diva" is originally used to describe a soprano star of an opera. Now it's anyone who thinks she can sing.
