I don't know why the Dutch authorities don't put a stop to the Nigerian 419 scammers using their territory and their banking system to give credence and respectability to their thuggish (because they beat up anyone who, after having paid the "advance fee" demand that inevitably ensues following a reply to these scam baits) confidence tricksters.

I suppose that anyone who believes s/he could possibly have "won" a lottery that s/he didn't buy a ticket for, and can't be bothered to to due diligence (i.e. Googling a few words from the scam bait e-mail) deserves his/her fate.

Except that often the victim steals from his/her employer or clients to meet the demands of the scammer, sure that a huge payout is on its way and the employer/client can be paid back in full.
