I went to take out the bathroom trash and my old HPT fell out and when i picked it up i saw a very faint second line. I had taken it about 2 days ago. It was so faint that i thought maybe i was just seeing things (wishful thinking) so i decided to rip the test to pieces and if you hold the plastic test piece up to the light you can definitely see a very faint thin line has this ever happened to anyone and what was the result?

the best time to take a test is your first pee in the morning??your hormone level is the highest then. I always had the best results doing it then...i have had the experience you have had and i just went and bought a dollar store test and tool it the next morning and needless to say i was pregnant...well i hope this was helpful and GOOD LUCK!!!!

It could be---I have heard of women getting a false on the test during the first hour and the line showing up later when it is a very, very early pregnancy. That said, there ARE false positives. I had a very light positive on an early detection test within a minute of taking it, and my bloodwork the next day said I had no HCG in my blood at all. The only way to tell for sure is another test, and since it is a couple days later, the line should be immediate if you are PG. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

This is strange, but the same thing happened to me last night. I took my HPT out of the trash from earlier in the day and there was a positive.. I could not sleep all night. I took another one this morning and it was negative. I read the directions again, and after 10 minutes, it is no good. It was an EPT also. I am 3 days late, usually very regular, I have cramping, sore boobs, etc. I am pretty sure I am not PG and my period is coming but my husband and I want to have a baby. I am sure it will happen soon! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

If you read through the information with the packaging I seem to recall it says that after a few days sometimes a line will become visible. Check it out.

If you do it and don't see a line by the end of 20 minutes (really by 5 minutes) it is not positive. Try again in a few days though, you never know.

It really sounds like a false pos (call the co. that made the HPT and tell them...They should offer to rectify it by sending you a new test if you can wait that long...Be patient and in the meen time whoring about it wont change it! So relax this has happened to me...I went out and bought 4 more tests that all came back neg...

any line no matter how visible or faint is indicative of a pregnancy...

even if it's past the time limit

hcg is hcg no matter how long it takes before it is recognized by the hpt tests

After 10 minutes, the results are invalid. Check out http://www.peeonastick.com for more information about this phenomenon. :)

Do it again in a weeks time or go to your dr or er and ask for a "Quantitative HCG". This will tell you if you are pregnant.
