I believe nurse's shoes have the best comfort for feet after 12 hours. I had a male friend that was in shipping and he liked to wear Doc Marten's and other steel toed construction type shoes/boots.

There are several brands that are very good. The fit is more important though. You need to have shoes that fit perfectly and have the proper arch for your foot. I suggest you go to a shoe store where they still have experienced salespeople who have been trained to fit shoes(hint: ask old ladies). You may need a slightly larger size than you used to because feet swell when you stand on them 12 hours.

I worked at an amusement park and had to stand forever too. I was also a hostess and file clerk in the past where I was constantly on my feet. I just bought regular shoes and put the gel footpads in them. You could look into specialty shoes but they will be expensive and sometimes ugly, like nurses shoes.

i would say get out a really old pair of shoes if you have some, because they usually get really comfy on the inside. if not, new balance has some pretty cushy shoes right now (just look through them all, because some are nice, and some arent)
