The only way to be 100 percent sure is abstinence. Condoms work wonders too, "pulling out" doesnt work. I know this because I have a 2 year old daughter from it. Also, I have a depo baby and a pill baby, so nothing is guarenteed except not having sex. So I say if you really don't want a baby, dont do it, or be ready to be responsible for you actions.

Best in number order:
1-abstinence
2-birth control method prescribed by a doctor or health department
3-condoms
trying to have sex around certain days is like Russian Roulette. Sperm live and swim for a few days seeking the egg.

It is important to know that a female is most fertile during her last week before menstruation. Otherwise here are all of the forms of birth control i know:
Condoms:
Everyone's favorite, works like a charm as long as it doesnt break. And when it does, you most likely wont know about it until afterwards.
Morning After Pill:
Not sure if this is offered in all states but in minnesota you can get one at anytime for around 35 bucks and needs to be taken within a few days of the event.
"Pulling Out"
This means pulling the penis out of the vagina before the man cums. This is effective, however is not 100% effective because sperm is released in the precum (clear/yellowly substance that you might notice come out after stimulation). But, its better than nothing and i would recommend it if you're not going to even wear a condom. I've done this a few times sadly but I've never gotten pregnant.
The Pill
You can get this from any doctor after you get your first pap smear. You take it once a day and you have to take it at the EXACT same time every day otherwise it is that much less effective. Very annoying and hard to keep up with. Its not nice knowing that because you overslept and took your pill an hour late its now only 90% effective or whatever the actual percent is depending. A lot of people do not take birth control pills correctly. They have different types of birthcontrol pills nowadays that can be taken at different intervals & yadda yadda yadda. You'll have to see what your doc has to offer.
The shot-
This is the most effective & also most painful birth control. In my opinion it also yields the most side effects. Every person I know who has gotten this has gained at least 20-30 lbs and also has emotional mood swings. You get the shot once every 3 months.
The patch-
This is my favorite birth control & also the one i use. You put the patch on at the end of your menstrual cycle and wear it for one week, then at the end of the week you change it. It doesnt matter what time of the day you do it as long as you do it that day. You change it 3 times and then you get your period the 4th week. You can put it on your shoulder, your abdomen, or your butt. I put it on my butt and alternate cheeks every week because a little skin irritation does occur, especially when my skin is dry in the winter, so if i switch around there is little or no irritation. It has never fallen off before, not in the shower or swimming or running or anything. It comes right off when you pull it. This is a good method because you can actually force yourself to have your period by taking off the patch. When i take it off i get my period the next day. So, if i have a special day coming up I know that my period won't interfere. You can do this without any problems, its actually called "restarting your patch change day" because you get your period as normal and put the patch back on after one week. Sometimes though i do get mild skin irritation or itching (itching occurs if i put it anywhere but my butt) and i get a layer of fuzz aorund the outside of my patch from my clothes. And sometimes my pants stick to the patch haha but it has never pulled it off. I think this is the easiest and most hassle free method of birth control.
The Nuva Ring/Diaphragm/Anything you can get that you need to put "up there"-
This is a plastic ring or other item you stick far up your vagina. It stays there because of your vaginal muscles. It is proven to not fall out. However its quite embarassing to hold off having sex because you need to insert something into your vagina first. It kind of ruins the mood. Plus, if he sticks his fingers up far enough he could pull it out. I haven't tried this method and never will because I think it's gross, uncomfortable & weird.
And thats all I know! Patch all the way unless you can actually devote yourself to using the birth control pill EFFECTIVELY and CORRECTLY!
Good luck!

Well, birth control is up to her, but you can wear a condom. The best technique for a guy is the condom pull out technique. You wear a condom for protection, but since condoms can break, you pull out just to keep it safe.
