Lieberman doesn't adhere to his own party's principles. He's a typical "career politician." He complains about the partisan divide but to my way of thinking, Americans need to see a clear difference between the two major parties. Joe will be remembered as the one who "didn't dance with the one who brung him."

I think you should be looking at the party it self Lieberman has been and incumbent and has done many things for CT but the focus was on one thing mainly. The party should stand by someone with a good record and history not bring in an unknown. The party abandon Lieberman. Anyways 40% of voters in CT are Independent and with the left over democarts that did vote for Lieberman he may just pull it off. Also, this whole thing shows how volitile the Democrats are within their party and represents their policy style.

I see from the answers here that the good of the party comes before the good of the country. Lieberman was and is a staunch Democrat who differs from his party on one issue. For that people are mad? Maybe he voted for Clinton's impeachment because he thought he was guilty (rightly or wrongly). If being loyal to your party means you can never disagree with that party, even once, this country is serious trouble. I have never seen a politician that I agreed with everything they did.

It just goes to show what lousy people they really are. What ever they have to do to get in the office is fine lie, cheat, steal, back stab, corkscrew, dirty deal, flip flop, switch parties. These do anything I don't care what it is people have got to be run out on a rail.
These crumbs are ruining America. They don't care about us, or doing what's right. We need a whole new group, the people that are there now, are getting a wake up call and they don't want to hear it. It's a new day dawning and they are trying hold on to the old ways by any means.

It is the nature of politicians to do and say whatever will get them elected. They mean none of it. They lie to get in office, and continue to lie every time they open their mouths. Anybody who has heard monkey george try to give a speech has convincing evidence of that. He doesn't even bother to read it first. How sincere could he be?

The funny thing is that if he didn't announce that he would run as an independent if he lost the primary, he might have won. He's a ******* idiot- good riddance.
