Our Appaloosa gelding was estimated at 38 years of age before he was put down Christmas night in 2002 when his hips gave out. He was scheduled to be put down in Jan after the holidays due to his hips weaking. Appy's usually are 32 years life spanned.

My oldest gelding right now is 29 years of age. I want to see him hit 30 in May. Quarter horse's usually have a life span of 28 years. In a few years, he too will be put down when the time comes.

My German Shepperd made it 11 years. I was 10 when she died and never had a dog since. My first, favorite and last I want to really have. I know when I get married and have kids, they will have a dog. I just will see it as their dog.

As my well as my horses when they pass on. I plan to breed my mare one last time and hope she has a colt or filly and I will carry it on that way. Her first foal I gelded since wasn't ready to handle a stallion yet at my age back then.

My lab/rotti mix passed away this May at the age of 9. My parents didn't tell me for a week.

I had a cocker that was killed when he was 9.

I had two goldies that lived for 8 years before shock killed them (well-city water)

My current oldest pet is my 9 year old Speckles (goldie that I won for best costume).

My golden labrador retriever was almost 16 when we had to put her to sleep, and my cat was 19 years old when she was put to sleep. They were two great animals.
