If your talking about the whole planet, no specific country in particular, my guess would be "Maria" and its variations like Mary and Marie. The reason I believe? It is a common name between Christians, Catholics and Jewish maybe since I knew several Jewish ladies in the states named Maria. And you know that these three religions span the whole globe. Also, In all Spanish speaking countries that's the most used name, more often than "Jose" on males. Also in Italy, Portugal, Brazil. and if you add that it is used as a first name and also middle name that's a lot more Maria's. And I think you know several Maria's too. If you choose a particular country then that's a different story.

I am a cake decorator, and one of the most popular names that I write on a cake is McKenzie. Now that is a newer common name. If you want to talk about when I was little it would probably be Matt and Jessica.
