I was at the Yankees-White Sox game tonight, so yeah, I saw A-Rod's homer. But no, I don't love him. I'm much more partial to Joe Crede, who has more home runs, a higher batting average and fewer errors than A-Rod this season.
Crede = best third baseman in the league.
A-Rod = overrated, always sucks in the playoffs.

The real key to your discussion is "they lost anyway". Individual statistics mean very little if the team loses.
