I once read somewhere that everyone has psychic energy. It's just that most of us are unable to properly channel it or don't have enough of it. I personally believe this is true, and that it's both of those reasons, but also a matter of faith.

Regarding the truth of psychic energy existing, I think the reason that, if we happen to have enough of it to utilise, the reason we cannot just "learn" to use it is because it's like... for example, telling someone who cannot wiggle their nose to do it. Some people CAN wiggle their nose, but trying to teach someone to do it, even if they're body is able to do it, is difficult. People can't just mentally tell their noses "hey, go wiggle." Just like people don't tell their hands to move to type, when they want to type. They just do it.

So I think it's like that with channeling psychic energy. If you find a way to do it, then you do. Most people, with enough energy, have bodies that are able to do it, but just cannot figure out how.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

point of clarification: psychic abilities, as in spoon-bending, levitation, and possibly mind-reading/future-seeing. but mostly the former, not the latter.

Perhaps it's a form of potential energy?

OMG! in response to the first responder:
DEJAVU
that's what it is, right?

We should SO discuss this.

message me! eek!

I forgot to mention deja vu!

2006-08-08 19:47:48 · update #3

quick "fun" fact:
deja is french for already
vu is the past tense for seen.

i didn't know that til my second year of french! lol.

interesting, no?

when i was younger, i just thought it was a phrase, but didn't think of the words as separate entities.

ANYWAY. loving your responses so far-- very insightful. I kind of expected at least one response to call me insane-- but thanks to those who refrained from doing so. Appreciated all comments thus far-- and will choose a best answer in... a couple days probably.

I do believe in psychic abilities, and i think you have figured it out,,it is about learning how to chanel it,
I do know one thing, that the body needs to be able to receive,,energies and recognize them. If a person is sensitive, yet they drink alcohol every night, they can not receive any messages, the same if your body is clouded with drugs, etc, and that does make sense, Also tv radios computers all i am guilty of,
Doesn't it make sense along with meditation, that quiet, no other interuptions around us. i am the worst, i go to sleep with tv on,, (for company) OR music , and i am constantly surrounded by so much stimuli, phones, tv computers, people, dogs barking, autos,,etc, i think in order to learn about our own abilities, and i know we have them, we need to let go ,,,,,,really be willing to take a chance and turn off the things that give us sensory flooding, i keep saying i will ,yet i don.t

It is always a tomorrow thing i am going to do, i am not sure why i have soo many crutches,, i do believe i would find more peace, and certain answers fo lifelong questions, if i would just take the firt and second steps to do so, but anyway yes, psychics do exist, and to what measure of ability is based on individuals practice and undersatanding of the gifts they have developed.

Sometimes I have dreams in which I see an event. Then I forget about it when I wake up. Sometime in the future, I have Deja Voue, sort of. I realize I had dreamed this but it only lasts a few seconds and it's never very useful. It makes me wonder though. I don't believe I'm psychic. But, It could just be the brain miss representing a situation to make it feel like a "vision."

We only use 10% of our brain power. So, in theory, we could read mines and use psychic powers if we used our full brain power. However, that would make us conduct much more heat and our bodies are not capable of handling that.

So, I think it's possible, but like aliens I doubt it exists on this planet. I just don't think as a species we are ready for such a power. I don't think we are built that way. But, maybe there is another creation out there that can.

In conclusion, it is possible that with evolution that some people may be able to use more brain power then usual. But, I think all things are made of energy, not to be confused with psychic energy. I mean electrons and the like. If true, the Mind may be the key to unlocking greater power. Who knows?

I sometimes dream of events that are yet to happen, this has happened several times. This causes feelings of Deja vu. I have had feelings of something being wrong in my family and my stomach gets all knotted up and then I would receive a phone call. This has happened 3 times. I wish I did know how to channel this because maybe I could have stopped some of these things from happening. Then when I do think about it I wonder if the reason I cannot tell the real events from the regular dreams or have more knowledge when I get the feeling of something being wrong in my family is because I wasn't meant to stop it. Maybe it was just to prepare me for the outcome.

Well, I can't bend a spoon or levitate yet but I do have the ability to see into the future. I can also read people very easily. I see the future in my dreams and I can tell when something is going to happen. But I don't consider it really psychic when it comes to telling what is going to happen. I think of it as more like being able to read the clues and interpret them correctly. I am usually right about 8 out of 10 times. But I didn't keep track until I pointed it out to the spouse.
My hubby was able to play with energy and at one time I was able to see it, but I can't now.
My mother and her great grandmother are and were natural witches. And my mother-in-law has the ability to see into the future. My hubby and I are curious to see what abilities our children are going to have.
I have been able to do what I've been doing for as long as I can remember. So we'll have to see with my kids.
Presently, I'm just trying to stick with the present. Fear keeps me here and that would explain why I can't see the forest for the trees.

Interesting story although I'll have to correct you on one thing: no one can know you better than you know yourself; you only hide less attractive traits from your active consciousness making it seem as though you don't know yourself very well - or are someone other than you really are, like many people like to make out to other people. That said, there ARE psychics out there who fraud, who do cold readings and drag information out of you without you even realising it. Those are very skilled at doing that and if those people had some sort of a conscience, they would be working as questioners with the local police force. But no, they prefer to use their qualities for dragging money out of people. But enough of that. I don't think figuring out whether or not a psychic is genuine, is a matter of belief. She can still be genuine, but you won't believe it, making her a fraud for you but that doesn't mean she is. Do you know what I mean? I've read a few general things in the reading she gave you (for example the man you'd be with - that is a general description because it is a type most women statistically go for) I went to a psychic once who said a similar thing. She was very vague on the description and only one thing in her entire reading she was right on; the fact that I lost a child. Her description of my future husband with whom I would have my second child, was to say the least vague and when I asked her questions about the details, she now turns out to be completely off. She was convinced he's not a foreigner - considering we live in a different country than the country of birth of my current boyfriend, I would say she was wrong there... and he is in fact the father of my next child, since I am pregnant at the moment. So... This woman could be right. Just try to figure out for yourself did she get details without dragging them out of you? Usually when psychics ask too many direct questions, they are trying to do a cold reading on you so you have to watch that. If all her details came without any instigation from yourself, then I would say that she might be a decent psychic. Since I do believe they exist, few and far between.

when you get close to a door knob do you feel it before the shock? Do you have vivid dreams? In color? Typing is a mindless skill if you learn the old way that is nothing do it here all the time. Some things are trained and somethings are gifts. For example I'm double jointed I can do things you can't. Oh grasshopper study more and get back to me. And so sorry I can't wiggle my nose or my ears but I can wiggle others things. tee hee Hey I might be old but I still have my since of humor even when I have no sense.

Yes, I believe in psychic abilities.

If you're really interested in finding out more about this, and you'd like to read a well-researched, fact-qualified book, I'd recommend you read "The Hollographic Universe" by Michael Talbot. I think it'll give you a lot of perspective into the possibility (and reality) of psychic abilities, and is also the only thing I can cite that also provides an explanation/hypothesis for how psychic abilities can be possible in relation to physics.

By looking at your facial expressions, by the tone of your voice, by just your "feelings" I can tell if you are lying. If I can tell if someone is lying, then I can tell if they are hiding something. If I can tell they are hiding something, I know the polar opposite is correct. Physic abilities are real, but human psychology sure helps as well.

As well under the influence of psychedelic drugs, multiple individuals can hear what each other are saying inside of each others minds. This telepathic communication channel is opened through the doors of psychactive alkloids. If you don't believe me, take some ecstasy with your friends, and have your friend write down in real time what you are thinking inside your head. That is reality? But you would be surprised that people can even read your thoughts without psychoactive drugs.

Everyone is capable of it, and experience it every day, even though they're not aware of it. It's just a matter of becoming aware of what already exists and acknowledging it. People see or hear things and become afraid and shut it down. We are all experiencing a spiritual awakening in some form.

A lot of people experience a "spiritual emergency" or a "breakthrough." They see visions and then they panic. Some would label them psychotic. But eventually, it's all about becoming comfortable with being in touch with the spiritual world.

Watch the Sixth Sense. In the beginning, the boy is terrified of his visions, and he's labeled as disturbed. But eventually, at the end of the film, he becomes comfortable with his visions and helps the murdered girl find peace, and helps his mother by acknowledging Grandma. This is the process.

Anything is possible. Science is not as far advanced as people think. 1,000 years from now they will laugh at how little we knew! So there are still many discoveries to be made.

I don't believe I've had direct experience with this. I have wondered, though, if our lifestyles "crowd out" any abilities our ancestors had. We work and live on rigid schedules, and constantly bombard ourselves with tv, radio, internet, and other external stimulation. We may be jamming some other "natural" signals, or ignoring them. How would we be different if we led quiet, simple lives as most of humanity did? Sometimes I want to be a monk!

I liked reading your profile. Keep living your dreams!

PS if someone has advice on how to recognize and/or develop these capabilities I hope they would tell us here! Thanks.
