Hi, I'm in the first trimester right now...but my acne is pretty bad right now. I know its unsafe to take acne pills....and i also heard the rx cream my doctor gave to me before i got pregnant (tretinoin) is unsafe. Normal acne face wash and usual typical over the counter acne stuff don't do anything for my skin!! any advice?? thanks =)

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Believe it or not, the best thing (and quickes, easiest and cheapest) you can do to get rid of pimples (or acne or any other blemish) is applying urine to your face. It really works and practically everyone who tries it gets amazing results. Just pee in a cup and dab some drops of it on the pimples a couple times a day or so, every day, until they're gone! You can also rub it on your face or other parts of your body to make wrinkles disappear, and to give you a good complexion and super-soft skin (it's the best moisturizer).

Of course you think I'm joking. But no - I'm very serious! People new to this concept ("urine therapy" or "uropathy") usually think it's disgusting and unreal! It might be hard to get used to at first, since we are made to believe that urine is just a waste that our body rejects (therefore they see it as gross and don't want anything to do with it). But urine is very sterile and contains no bacteria or toxins. (In fact, you can even wash your laundry with urine!)

Urine is made up of:
95% water
2.5% urea
2.5% mixture of hormones, salts, minerals, etc.

Urea is the component in urine that is so good for your skin. It works so well that they add urea to facial products and acne products! Also, urine therapy is a secret that many models have, because it makes your skin so attracitve!

So try it and I bet you it'll work! Good luck! ;-)

This is fairly normal I think. I believe it's related to the hormone changes that are occuring in your body. Just think, you only have a few more months!

Here's an article about acne during pregnancy...

A friend of mine had the same problem and she couldn't take any prescriptions (even the cream) and Proactiv really cleared up her skin.

Blame the hormones dear... There's more to come... before all is over... I strongly suggest Proactiv... even with all your hormones, it's pretty impressive! and safe.
