Cnidarians, are another phylum with many tentaculated specimens. Cnidarians often have huge numbers of cnidocytes on their tentacles. Cnidocytes are cells containing a coiled thread-like structure called nematocyst, which can be fired at potential prey.
Octopus do not have tentacles, they have arms which have grasping suckers along thier length.

cnidarian shoot envenomed needles into their prey. Octopuses just grab their prey.

Plus octopus tentacles taste good. Jellyfishes dont,

That is because cnidarian have a tube like bodie whereas the molluscs have shells
