Well, I think you have to be sad all the time. And there is black eyeliner involved. On the positive side, ummm....

I think if you're making the conscious decision to become an emo, then you'll always just be an emo wannabe. If you wanna follow the emo style 'cause you like it, then you do it. If you're trying to get into the emo life, don't bother. Unless you're emo already, you'll just end up faking it, and that's not even worth it.

My friend is an "emo"...
I dont approve of it, but I try to help her.. she gets to listening to that punk rock and then she gets emotional like.. its a sad sight...
Shes slit her wrists before OD on Tylenol.. thos are the disadvantages..
the advantages is that people who are different have a different view of life.. and emos can be very analyzing.. sometimes refreshing, but if they become obsessed and too serious thats when the problems begin..

are you insane, there is no advantage in being emo, emo people are dark and mysterious, no one really likes them but other emo people and they cut themselves, and theres always a risk of dieing
stay the hell away from that group

my friend became emo once but it was just a phase...... if ur a rocker then there's no point because emo is just a sub-stereotype of rocker. it's really a question only u can answer

ummm, emotional ?? If that's it, then the advantages are you
gain a girls sympathy and she will want to hug you.
The disadvantages are being seen as a p***, but who cares !!
Cause you'll get the girl.

High maintenance as far as disadvantages go. I don't think there are any advantages.

Advantage: You can makeout with members of the same sex and no one will call you gay.
Disadvantage: You get called a p*ssy all the time.
