Are those the only two choices, business man or some guy on the street corner spitting on my windshield and getting angry if I don't give him a dollar? Being a good business man is not a bad quality to have for a president, but I've never heard that Bush was any good at it. Either way, there is an obvious conflict of interest if you put your business and the business of your buddies before the people you represent.

Right about now, I don't know the guy who washes windshields at the stoplight, but I could just about bet, he couldn't do worse than Gdubya.
Exactly in what way has GWB helped your life? Do you buy gas to get to work everyday, and then have him tell you that you are addicted to gas? Do you listen to him speak? Did you have to stand on a bridge in New Orleans for 7 days, without food, water, in 90* weather, wondering where your government was, or if they would ever arrive? Did you have to smell the death that was thick in the air? You approve of someone who has no foreign nor domestic diplomacy? You approve of someone who blatantly ignores the basic laws of the Constitution?
I love the US. I will die for her in the end. You may too. Be prepared to defend this land, because it is coming.

Do the best businessmen/women necessarily make the best politicians?
Money buys influence, pure and simple. Should that money then be used to purchase political power? Countries who have faced this problem recently are Italy (Berlussconi) and Thailand (Thaksin Shinawatra).
Would Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Martha Stewart or Oprah make a good head of government purely on the grounds that they haven't done too bad in business?!?

The problem is that he was not good at business. He only became successful because he got lucky with the Ranges. He was able to raise the money to buy into the team with an illegal stock trade that the SEC did not investigate ( he sold stock that was collateral for a loan with letting the people who had the loan know.) And then when Arlington built the Rangers a new field his $500K invest became worth $1700k.

Hmmmm,,,where did it start ? I would have to say with Nixon....but Clinton was kinda crooked. Even if the window washer was president,,,, He still has to listen to his advisers and take every crooked business man and their ''deals'' in to consideration.... In other words,,,the president is just the guy that gets the heat ....A Ginnie pig if you will.... President shmesident.....The president doesnt run the world,,, it's all the three peace suited liars that embezzle money and that sort of thing...and when the Pres. lets them skim by,,,only then is He a leader..................

In Greece the president or even a member of the parliament are not allowed to participate in businesses, because they might use their post to benefit their business - and vice versa. Greece creaated democracy. Does that answer your question? By the way, if you are implying Bush, I think business was not his strong point until he became president.

I would rather have any man in politics that had to get a new job every year. Joe the pig farmer would do just a good a job.
Aslo, do you really believe history and all the great slogans that have brainwashed joe public about honesty. Funny not too many of them were serious after they were elected.

I have no idea, but why are so many politicians lawyers?
And why can't our oil tycoon president (who I support) get us lower gas prices?
I support politicians having business and military backgrounds
God Bless Ronald Reagan
