when our face is exposed to heat, the pores open up to allow more air into our skin. once they open up, they won't contract to the same size. also, oil can clog our pores and stretch them out.

it is weird though! because you look at babies and can't find a SINGLE pore! hm. what i wouldn't give...hehe.

An excess of sebum will make your pores larger and will make your skin oilier. Most people with dry skin do not have large pores. Wrinkles are the most common result of drier skins. If you're looking to shrink pores size, try a chemical peel or microdermabrasion and consult an aesthetician, or better yet, a dermatologist. A series of treatment professionally executed will help reduce your pore size, control the production of sebum, and make your pores less noticible. There's a lot of options out there so it's definitely worth your while to pay a visit to a professional and choose the best treatment for your condition. Best regards!

Having a dirty face or living condition, picking at the pores, and eating oily foods such as nuts or pizza. This may not apply to all people but if your pores seem to act badly to oily foods it's common sense to avoid them.

I think pores get bigger because as you age, the collagen in your skin is slowly depleted causing your skin to sag and wrinkle. This sagging causes the pores to appear bigger.
