It's an anthroplogy book. Not the suffragette movement, but a possibly out of print one on evolution Can someone tell me the author?

I think the title you're thinking of is actually "The Descent of Woman" (as opposed to "...Man", which was good old Charlie D.!), by Elaine Morgan—she's a journalist who wrote several books between the late 70s and early 90s about human evolution and the so-called "Aquatic Ape Hypothesis" (see also "The Scars of Evolution", "The Aquatic Ape", and "The Descent of the Child")

Very interesting reading, although I thought she stretches a few points a little further than strictly justified. Having said that, the hypothesis is generally sound, and goes a damn sight further than the "Savannah hypothesis" to explain why we are how we are.

amazon is a good place to find it or if you go to old used books stores they should have copies of it.
