i know nothing about computers as this is new to me,you will have to tell me in stages.

to get a icon in windows you right click the program from the start menu (can use the windows key) and select 'send to' option and send to desktop as shortcut.

You haven't stated what OS (operating system) you have. If it's a Mac, in OSX, you're probably referring to the Dock. If so, open the hard drive by double clicking, and then open 'applications', and go down to yahoo messenger (Usually they're in alphabetical order). If you can't find it, the top right corner of the window should be a search bar. Type 'yahoo', and it should come up. Drag it to the dock.

If this is a PC, someone else could probably tell you better than I, but most likely you'd again search for the yahoo messenger icon, and right click it, select 'make alias' and drag it to the main desktop.

if u r using windows right click on the desktop and select new>shortcut then the create shortcut wizard starts insert the url u want for example: http://www.yahoo.com click next and name the shortcut for example yahoo!
