have a heart to heart talk with him and explain that u are only interested in friendship. if the situation makes u really uncomfortable, talk to him again and explain that it's friendship or nothing then stand behind it. don't be his friend if he can't respect your decision.

It won't stop if you are just nice about it and just keep putting it off. I'm not saying be mean to him, but you have to make it very very clear to him in plain English that you don't want to be more than friends with him. If it's 'just being friends' is going to be a problem than maybe the friendship should end too. Try to be nice about it, but make it very clear to him. Otherwise he'll just keep coming back.

when that happened to me, i was okay with it at first and just blew him off. But then it started getting really awkward and I had to let him know and then things between us got awkward and now we don't talk.
if you don't get the awkward vibe, give it a chance, otherwise he should respect you and not push you for anymore than that. If he does, he's not a good friend because he doesn't value your friendship over his wants.

Stick to your guns, and don't be friends...just be friendly. Some men don't understand what "no" means....so just be careful. You can still say "hi" and smile, but don't initiate any conversations.
I, too, am going through the same thing....and I've learned my lesson!
