That is such a cute question. My husband always says that when we're watching Sponge Bob with my daughter. He also asks that when Sponge Bob gets a drink of water. He's so cute and funny (my husband). Well, Sponge Bob is cute and funny, too.

And why do all the fish walk instead of swim? And how can there be a beach underwater? And what do they drink in those cups, and how do they start camp fires, and cook burgers underwater, and drive boats? And how the heck did a squirrel get to living underwater? What's he doing living in a pineapple under the sea? And why does he look like a dish washing sponge? And real sponge creatures of the ocean don't move or talk, and actually, neither do dishwashing sponges. And as a matter of fact! Neither do crabs, or squids or star fishes or squirells, or whales, or sharks, or any type of fish!!! And how can a whale be the daughter of a crab????????????????

The first several times I watched Spongebob I was so totally disguisted by these facts. I kept complaining to my son about eating beef, having fires and cooking, having water under water, driving, and all of the things that they do that would be impossible under the water. Now that I've grown to love Spongebob and all of his characters it just doesn't matter. He is the best thing since Scooby Doo. And I never thought I'd say that. Squidward is the bomb! And who can't love Patrick?

See, this is where people go wrong when trying to decipher cartoons. You have to know WHATS GOING ON!! Check this out... Spongebob lives in the ocean right? Right. Ocean water is salty. Would you take a bath in salty water? No. Right? Right. So the water that he bathes with is fresh water.... DUH!! LOL

It's beyond logic for adults but children usually don't question things like that. However, I'd like to know why SpongeBob needs so many mattresses to sleep on . . .
