There are no pros to smoking. Trust me. I have been a smoker for 20 years now and nothing good has come of it. Everything smells of smoke. Your hair, your clothes, your house, your car, everything. It does not prevent you from gaining weight either, I can vouch for that first hand. Every day I wake up with a cough (smoker's cough) and through out the day. It is a waste of money and can cause major health problems. I have been trying to quit for at least 5 years and it is very hard, because smoking is also very addictive. Don't believe any pros anyone may give you. It is hogwash!!!

It will give you more personal space. Fewer people will want to be around you breathing second hand smoke. You will lose weight(a real reason why some people smoke) because it reduces your ability to taste food. It will give your skin that desired weathered and wrinkled look that so many women crave, because the smoke that curls up around your face dries out your skin and causes it to wrinkle and look older. There is no real upside to smoking. Tobacco manufacturers have made a product that is addictive on purpose. Death is just a side effect.

1) Smokers burn more calories than non-smokers (Reduced appetite and increased metabolic rate)
2) Research indicates it may prevent or at least slow the onset of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Tourette's Disease, Ulcerative colitis and sleep apnea.
3) Smoke Rings are cool.
4) Government benefits from the taxes.
5) It gives pleasure to the smoker (I know this one from first hand experience....smoked for 10 years before I quit 4 years ago...I still miss smoking sometimes)
None of these are worth the risk.

No pros whatsoever. I have smoked now for 11 years, I am pretty strong willed and can still do nothing to kick this habbit. I am now having a very hard time breathing at night time, and have much less energy every year. I am only 26, not being able to breathe sucks. Pass it up

It helps some singers, but you have to want /that/ voice.
It kills the nicotine fits.
Your breaks can be longer - you need time so you can walk to the "smoking area," and nobody wants to stop you from taking a few extra, if they know what's good for them.
The $ you spend on cigarettes is being used to keep other people from trying it. This is an important social-program. Please don't withold your funding.

You don't have to live in this crappy world for too long.
It looks "cool".
You get a neato hole in your throat.
Your voice will go down two whole octaves!! deep voices are sexy.
Plus, your voice will be raspy all the time. Very sexy.
Ooo, and, you will constantly smell like cigarette smoke. So another smoker will be instantly attracted to you.

For me, it calms me down so I don't kill anyone. I know it is all in the head, but after doing it for 20 years, it is really hard to quite. You have to really want to. But even that is hard. If you don't smoke...GOOD FOR YOU! Don't ever start! I wish I hadn't. Also I don't smoke to be cool or to fit in. Personally I don't care what anyone thinks about me. If you like me...Great! Let's be friends and if not...oh well! It does help you lose weight and keep it down because your smoking instead of eating. Also out of board um. I gives you something to do.

It's a social icebreaker, curbs appetite, i think you die from everything else about them. I think social icebreaker is best one though, i used to work at store that was connected to restaurant and when i used to go out for smoke break all the cute waitresses would be smoking out there too. I ended up dating one.
