I think the main problem is that they just havent been brought up on it. Ive had some friends come over on holidays here in Australia and Ive taken them to a One Day Game
Once they got a quick rundown on the rules and were able to ask a few ongoing questions, they were just blown away by the skill, courage and fielding abilities required.
The main thing that blew their mind was the fact that the bowler was able to bowl this very hard ball which weighs about 1 1/2 x the weight of a baseball directly at the batsman on purpose and legally. They thought that that was mad.

I don't know, it is played in poncy places where polo and rugby excels, ivy league places or taken up by expats from former cricketing playing nations. Apart from that it needs the exposure that soccer has had with the World Cup playing a big part in the development of the that particular game and until then it will struggle against the more popular sports that America has embraced and taken to their heart.

Cricket is a game that originates from India. I'm sure it is popular with Indianpeople living in the U.S. Cricket is very popular in the UK, which has a large Indian population.

COZ they play baseball
In baseball there is no danger of being hit by the ball as it is soft
They cant understand the rules of cricket

cause its not played there so much besides baseball is their favourite game n that's their "CRICKET" 4 them peolple in usa mostly play baseball only a few of them play cricket....that 2 not so well their government does notncourage them 2 take up cricket as their sport their fav games r football,baseball,basketball,tennis,badminton,swimmin,etc etc.....

there too busy playing the childs sport, baseball cricket is too complicated for them. what would they know about how a pitch changes a game exc

It is too slow and you can play for five days and have a draw, people not just Americans cannot see the logic in this.
