I picked out the tattoo on the internet and printed it off and kept it in my purse for a couple months. When I was bored I would just pull it out and look at it - making sure it was perfect and what I really wanted. I met with a tattoo artist and gave him the picture and talked about what i wanted and he threw in his ideas too. I made an appointment for a couple weeks down the line. When I came back for the appt. the artist and I talked again about what we were going to do.

I felt comfortable with the artist and was in love with the new ideas we had for my tattoo. I love it! I think if you are going to get a tattoo on your lower back, just be aware that low pants and swimsuits will always show it off. I didnt really like all the attention near my butt region at first, but I'm used to it. And my tattoo makes a statement about who I am, so I am okay with showing it off. However, I have seen some pretty wicked tattoos on older women, and that's just a chance I am willing to take.

If you are worried about it on your lower back, try your hip. I have a small tattoo there and it's covered up by my bottoms most of the time, whether I am wearing a swimuit or jeans - and i love that tattoo as well!

As long as your tattoo means something to you, then you will be fine!

Good luck!

For me tattoos are like girls. One minute you're in love with them, the next, you wonder why you're still bedding her. Short answer: don't do it. It sounds like you're already having doubts, so this is a definite no.

Oh and by the way, a lot of guys I know see the tattoo and think 'she's easy'. You'll get hit on more. But not in a good way.

tattoos are like scars. Each hold a milestone in your life.
If you loved it then and love it now...great.
If you don't then have it removed.

I'm 41 and I have tats and many scars.... I thought about removing them...yet..its my written history of my body, along with the C-section scar.

The tats cost me a job and pissed off some folks, yet- screw them. Life is too short to worry about the other folks issues.

No. I think it's very trashy. It makes you look like a total tramp.
