For example, if a manager goes over his budget at work, he is in trouble, possibly fired. If the government goes over budget, citizens say "that's okay! We'll pay more in taxes!"

If a business does a poor job, then the business will fail. If a government agency does a poor job, they get more funding.

If a corporation is caught in fraudulent activity, people will not stand for it, and will demand that the responsible party is fired, and the corporation may be shut down. If the government is caught in fraudulent activity, people accept it as "just part of the government", and don't demand their termination.

Your question is incorrect in asking how the government is held to different standards than OTHER corporations. The government is not a corporation. The reason the government gets by with its wasteful and illegal activities is because we don't get off of our rears and do anything about it as a nation.

A government intends to fall back on your taxes while cooperation has non of that.
For a cooperation its swim or drawn..

They write the rules. Unless the SCOTUS says otherwise, the POTUS and Congress get to do what they want to do.
