My partner is terribly shy. I want her to (eventually) feel comfortable with her body and for her to see just how sexy she really is.
Can anyone suggest any ways for me to build her confidence in this area?

Sit down and talk to her and "REALLY "listen to what she does like about herself and build from there.
What we see in our partners they often don't and it takes time,but try to respond to what shes saying to you rather than to what you want her to see.
some people have a hard time seeing their good points and dwell on the negatives.

Well it sounds to me like you are doing the right thing. Building her self confidence is important. Let her know that you are with her for a reason. Let her know how lucky YOU are to have HER. Make her feel special and important.
When I was with a woman that was self concious about her body, I was a total PIG. I was ALL over her all the time. Basically letting her know how sexy and attractive I thought she was but just being a pig about it and it worked! Go figure! Femmes!

Well I can relate. Im 22 and it takes a long time for me to feel comfortable enough with a guy. But it will help if your sweet and caring and dont try to rush anything. Tell her how beatiful she is and focus on parts that most girls are shy about. Tell her she has the sexiest butt, legs and stomach. If her breasts are small pay attention to them and make her know you think they are beautiful. When a girl feels beautiful she can be sexy.

It takes time...I'd suggest to keep the kidding to a minimum when doing "serious things", (ie, come here thunder thighs!) and keep telling her, especially "during", how hot she makes you.
I used to be the same way with my fiance when we were first together. Try keeping the lights off, and turn them higher gradually. Really, once you're caught butt naked in bright light, theres not much to shy away from. :P
Keep reassuring her, and remember to reassure AFTER, too, even if you're dead tired. She'll come around!

i know i have this problem with myself as well. i've lost 15 pounds and look better than ever but i still doubt my appearance. i know if i'm with a guy that i truely love and feel comfortable with that i can be sexy for him, atleast a lil bit :) ya gotta work your way up

when you find out let me knwo. I have that problem..With me its the fact Im not comfortable with my body because I want to be in better shape. Im workin on it though. Hope once I get better bod I will feel better??

compliment anything besides the obvious. let her pick the amount of light and clothing til she's comfortable. letting her be in charge of her comfort level while reminding her that everything about her is beautiful will loosen her up.

tell her! at random times (when she's washing dishes or changing a tire) and about random parts: your shoulders do this thing when you laugh or your nose how it's kind of crooked. my lover is absolutely sincere when she says these things to me and eventually convinced me to give her a striptease. i feel super sexy when she brings it up and how hott it was.
