This is regarding my question about what does the term cougar mean? This does not sound like a very good term. What is wrong with dating younger men? Am I just not getting the full jist of this? Please explain? Am really confused.

Is this for a specific type of woman or any woman who dates a younger man?

If I were to date a younger man I would'nt want to be refered to as this. It just doesn't seem very respectable. I am a nice woman not a sl*t .

I am in my mid 30's and the guys that seem to hit on me are in their mid to late 20's. This freaks me out if they are actually thinking that I'm easy. I'm not at all.

DO WHAT'S IN YOUR HEART GIRL....EXPLAINING YOUR AGE AND HIS SHOWS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT (AS LONG AS EITHER OF YOU AREN'T CHEATING) AND IF IT GETS SEXUAL, USE PROTECTION (AT LEAST IN THE BEGINNING) DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK...JUST SAYING THAT YOU WORRY SHOWS THAT YOU DO CARE AND ARE A DECENT PERSON...THIS IS YOUR LIFE AND THE ONLY THINGS IN LIFE YOU WILL REGRET ARE THE RISKS THAT YOU DON'T TAKE...IT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK OUT BUT HOW WILL YOU EVER KNOW UNLESS YOU GO FOR IT...BEST OF LUCK TO YOU :)

I have heard this term--but I think of it as older women in their late 40's, and 50's, dating guys in their 20's and 30's. There is a whole book on this subject.

I've never heard that term used. I have dated younger men and who cares about a label, just ignore the jealous.

I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT TERM BUT I WOULDN'T GIVE IT MUCH THOUGHT. IF YOU'RE ONLY IN YOUR THIRTIES IT'S NOT LIKE YOU'RE SOME HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEAR OLD LOONEY STALKING SOME 12 YEAR OLD. AND I'M SURE YOU'RE NOT AFTER A MINOR EITHER. SCREW WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS AND HAVE FUN. BESIDES, YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER YA KNOW!! (HA! JUST KIDDING)

You might be labeled Mrs. Robinson. But there is nothing wrong in it.

don't sweat it - your confidence and ability to respect yourself and the person you are with matter most - not age - as long as legal - don't mind terms or any other garbage.
