I'm talking broadly here:
Skin color
Hair color
Beauty (do you consider yourself beautiful/ugly)
How you dress

And how are you treated dfifferently? Are you rewarded or punished for looking different?

I have bad teeth and can't afford to have them fixed. If I go around with a smile people will treat me as less than they are. If I stay pretty serious all the time people might not necessarily warm up to me right away but at least that way I am not considered an idiot before I even have the chance to prove them different.

Of course. But I have something interesting to add: Research has been done which suggests that, historically, the looks favored by the public, i.e., as you state, skin color, hair color, what passes for beauty, style, etc., are determined mostly by the group currently in power. Thus, at the height of the Roman empire, most persons of nordic, anglo and saxon descent were considered ugly, brutish, and barbaric. It is a fact that persons of these genotypes were routinely traded like cattle by dark-haired, brown-eyed Roman property owners.

Now, fast forward 2000 years, and we see the Romans have receded from world hegemony, and, after some 500 years of Anglo and American domination, the favored genotype is notably blonder, whiter, and blue-eyed.

Strange how the time of your birth affects the outcome of your life. That's probably why people believe in astrology.

of course...people SAY they're objective...but studies have shown that more attractive people are treated better than less attractive, overall. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but some people are more universally good looking than others.

I'm overweight...and not a very trendy/upscale dresser. I don't spend a lot of time on my hair or makeup. I don't think that has affected me TOO much in my workplace, but definitely in my social life...people are less willing to approach me or help me out if I have a question.

Even though I'm white, I definitely have been a victim of reverse discrimination at times.

That's all I can relate to

Yes! Attractive women are treated the best. Usually by both men and women.

Yes, definitely. People tend to judge by your physical appearance, hence, first impression lasts. Don't ask why, it's just human nature.

I feel people tend to treat me better because I am handsome and tall.
