Should I have told the truth ?

My friends went to Japan for a holiday and I looked after there house but their two gold fish died I stressed out because I knew they fussed over them. I spent two days looking for fish exactly the same and replaced them. When they got home they where amazed at how big they had grown and thanked me for taking care of them , I felt very guilty ,but said nothing. Should I have told them the truth??

I guess this makes me a dishonest person, but I probably wouldn't mention it again. The likelihood of them ever finding out that they are not the same fish is really really unlikely, and you can just avoid an uncomfortable situation by letting it be. UNLESS you think that you're conscience will just be riding you the whole time. If such is the case, you may just want to come clean about the whole thing. I know you said that they made a fuss about the fish, but at the end of the day, they weren't $10,000 Brazilian Red Bellied Piranhas, they were GOLDFISH and I think that they would be less than devastated.

You should have just told the truth, but since you didn't, just run with the story you have. After all, they are just fish! Let's keep it in perspective.

u should tell the truth bcause by telling the thruth u feel better and comfortable. neverhide a secret from a friend. remember this forever. they will not scold u bcause by listening the thruth they feel better.

i think you should because its obvioulsy on your mind and bothering you. the only way to solve you problem and answer your question is to tell them the truth.
