Why is there a double standard at work?

At my job we have a double standard, there is this one girl who can waltz in 2-4 hours late, talk all day on her cell phone to her boyfriend, not get very much work done, flirt with all male customers on the phone for 45 min. after asking a work related question for 2 min of the conversation, but if I or one of my other co-workers did this my boss would get really mad and be all over us. Do you have a bosses pet who gets away with was too much and you cant?

I'm just glad I work swing shift and see the other girls for a hour and a half, but the ohter girl I work with at night is mad at me I think (not talking to me all day or night I should say) and the afore mentioned girl is her friend I guess, the whole damn office is 2 faced, just a bunch of CRAP. Thats why I'm going to school to get out of here.

Its called a work place. You all cant be equal and that girl has mastered her way around the office. If you notice much about her, whenever the boss is around, she is always looking like she is doing a good job and always taking credit for what you have done. There is nothing you can do about it just work around it.

Your situation is true to almost all workplace. Some people seems to have a greater privileges than most. Perhaps, that girl's official function is to just flirt with all male customers. That you cannot do. Be thankful!

THATS JUST LIFE---IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN EVERYWHERE!
ONLY THING TO DO IS KEEP YOUR NOSE CLEAN AND DO YOUR JOB AS BEST YOU CAN--IF A BUDGET CRUNCH HITS THE BUSINESS-THEY ALWAYS HAVE TO LET THE SOCIAL BUTTERFLY OF THE PLACE GO. LAST PLACE I WORKED A GUY THAT HAD BEEN THERE SINCE IT OPENED--IN THE 5 + YEARS I WAS THERE-I NEVER-EVER SAW HIM DO ONE THING!
