oh just wait till he eats an entire 18 piece pack of cinnamon trident gum and proudly shows you his pink poop... or even better .. finds a hole in his favorite teddy and shoves all the stuffing up his nose....or eats the dog food... or..or .. or
this has to be your first child - sweety it only gets more interesting... children are very curious and will put anything and everything in their mouth, ears, nose etc... it's gonna happen becasue even if you are the best momma in the world... about all you can do is if you see your child chewing on something they shouldnt is gently discourage them and replace the "no no" object w/ something more suitable for chewing - my daughters favorite was large kosher dills....and still is..
best wishes...

It might just be the texture. I'd say just try to keep him away from things with fuzz (I know, it's almost impossible). Plastic toys, have a tough rug down, etc. If he's teething, see if that's the cause. Other than that, just do what you can. My son is 18 months and likes putting anything bumpy in his mouth, and will chew on anything he gets his hands on.

just relax honey. keep reminding yourself that he is a baby. when he does this, stop him immediately, and give him a chew toy. take away the stuffed animals, which may make him sad, but tell him that when he stops eating the fuzz he can have them back. also, ask your DR to test him for some sort of vitamin indeficiency so that all of your bases are covered. everyday is a learning experience isn't it, don't worry he'll be eating mud pies before you know it.

My niece was pulling her hair out and eating it and my sister in law went to the dr about it, They said it was a condition called PIKA or PICA i don't excatly remember the name but any way it is a lack of some vitamin . Alot of children and pregnant women have it and it results in them eating strange things such as clay, dirt, paper etc. I would go to the doc and let him determine for sure. From what I understand it is harmless except for the risk of eating some that will hurt them.

When you see him do it take whatever he is chewing on away and sternly say "NO Chewing". He may be teething. My son will be 2 on Thurs and started getting his molars in around that age. Give him some infant Tylenol, and use some orajel and see if that helps.

No this is not normal my daughter is 19 months old and she doesn't even really like stuffed animals. Pop him when he starts to do that. That is crazy. All babies do weird stuff though.

Give him a binky. Call a doctor. The possibilities are various. He could be vitamin deficient (or worse). If he stubbies the binky, then grab a roll of duct tape and tape it to his face.
