we have been married for 3 years, and she told me that she has been having an affair with a 41 year old doctor for nearly the whole 3 years (my wife is a nurse). i have always been good to her, spend all my $$$ on her and always give her all my attention. why would she leave me for a guy that is as old as her dad? i want an opinion as to why.....

She probably does have a "daddy complex". He is older, smarter, richer, etc. than you so he is more attractive to her.
He probably just reached a mid-life crisis and divorced his wife. Now he is ready for a live-in hot girlfriend.
But he is an adulterer, and she definitely is a sl*t! They deserve each other. Don't be surprised if he cheats on her, in the near future!
You are much better off without her. You sound like a nice fellow, so plenty of women will notice you are available. Try to find one with some ethics, this time!

Ok....though this is a severe blow to your emotions as you must have loved her during those 3 years of marriage; but since she decided to leave you and wish to live with that doctor fellow inspite your loving her, it means she must have seen something extra in him. Its nice that she told you so and did not elope. The second point : She is a nurse, I think she must have seen her talent could be more utilized along with the services of doctor.....(of course this is logical to me....) and now in confused mind she must have decided to make it go with Mr.Doctor.
As far as your own condition is concerned, I wish to say here that you can still have new life with another nice girl with much belief, you are free to do so, allowing your present wife to have her desire fulfilled. Hope this is the only amicable way to "Live and Let Live" happily.

i think she did it because she could care less about your feelings for one. I don't think the age difference should bother you if the man had been 24 it still would have been an affair plan and simple. to answer you question i think she did it because maybe her father wasn't in her life so by having some one older she can feel that space in her heart that was suppose to be for her dad.
