Does your wife/girlfriend rub it in to you when she thinks there is someone out there better than you?

Eg:

I think that (insert name here) is a lot better looking than you!

...or...

You lost that game because (insert name here) was just better.

Does that ever happen to you?

If so, what do you say/do about it?

She is being verbally abusive!!!! She is wanting you to think that you are not good enough for her. She sounds very insecure and unsure of herself. When your with someone you want that special someone to feel good about themselves not bad. I am guilty as well when I am in a heated arguement I say some horrible things but I would never say so and so is better then you that is just plain wrong. Tell her she needs to get help or you are gone. Do not put up with that abuse.

Sorry, love is kind. When someone loves you they do not say things that are intended to hurt you, unless you do the same thing. What I would say is: you know what, you're right, don't waste another minute with me and see what they say.

She's teasing you. She's just saying that so you can improve. It's sort of an encouragement but not in a "nice" kind of tone. I'm sure she means no harm.

She certainly isn't a supportive or loving girlfriend. You may want to shop around for a new one.
